PURR.AI Secures Two Prestigious FCT Doctoral Fellowships for Groundbreaking Neuroscience Research

We are proud to announce that PURR.AI has been awarded two highly competitive doctoral fellowships by the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT), marking a significant achievement in our ongoing commitment to pioneering research in neuroscience and artificial intelligence.

 

SCORINGAGE: Sofia Agostinho will investigate the intricate mechanisms of aging in neuronal cells. Through the innovative use of Machine Learning and AI to analyze complex omics data, Sofia aims to discover new GPCR targets, potentially revolutionizing treatments for neurodegenerative diseases. This project is spearheaded by PURR.AI in collaboration with Dr. Ana Fred (Instituto de Telecomunicações) and Dr. Carlos Rodrigues (Instituto Superior Técnico).

BRAINPASS: Ana Miguel Amorim will be actively developing a predictive platform that determines which peptides can cross the blood-brain barrier using advanced Machine Learning and Generative AI techniques, potentially unlocking new therapeutic avenues. This project, focused on addressing the growing challenge of neurological disorders associated with aging, is led by PURR.AI, also with the supervision of Dr. Lino Ferreira from the Centre for Innovative Biomedicine and Biotechnology and the Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology.
